CFW vs OFW

Interested about my previous post? ;) OK, then this time, you will be knowing more about the OFW and CFW.

When Nokia launches a phone in the market, the phone comes with a version of OS, which changes form time to time. Suppose you bought a 5233 in May, 2010 and someone buys it in December, 2011 then both of you will have the same specification of the phone but the version of the OS must differ. To know which version of OS you are using, press in your dial *#0000#. You must get your version number there. Sometimes, you may feel to upgrade your phone to a higher version, then you can go to your nearest Nokia Care and ask them to upgrade your phone (of course giving them the "appropriate" charges for that. B) ) or you can flash your phone with the original firmware files provided by Nokia, downloaded in your PC from internet by a special software called navifirm.

Don't download the OFW files now, I will definitely provide you with detailed picture guide how to do that.

(ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND THAT FLASHING WITH WRONG VERSION AND WRONG METHOD WILL SURELY BRICK/KILL YOUR PHONE, YOU CAN'T YOURSELF REVERT BACK TO A WORKING PHONE AGAIN)

Actually, what Nokia do is suppress the full functionality of the hardware they supplied by the aid of software. The sole reason for this is business. So, if you want to customize your phone according to your needs then you will have to depend on the modders (if you don't know how to build your own CFW :( ). The customized firmware files are available in plenty of numbers, later I will provide you the links. For time being, just think of what actually you want? To depend on Nokia and be satisfied with very low quality speaker sound or have a customized OS with improved frame rates, UI, overclocked processor and many, many more mods :O . Let me know what you will be going for.. Take Care..See you soon.. :)
